Job summary

Foster Farms in Oregon City, OR, is seeking a Hatchery Supervisor for the Beavercreek Rd. Hatchery to support the Hatchery Manager and help produce high-quality chicks at the lowest possible cost.

The role requires supervising up to 200,000 chicks daily, enforcing safety standards, managing labor, training employees, and coordinating programs such as sanitation and Inovo injection.

Qualifications

  • College degree or equivalent work experience in related field, at least 1 year of equivalent experience preferred.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Good organizational and time management skills
  • Must adhere to Foster Farms disease control policies.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred but not required
  • Ability to operate automation equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Ability to keep regular attendance and work shifts as scheduled
  • Ability to work weekend and graveyard shifts and most holidays.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with manager in meeting department goals and standards on quality, yield, productivity, safety, and costs. Supervise production up to 200,000 chicks daily.
  • Establish and maintain labor efficiencies.
  • Provide safety training for all employees, perform safety inspections and audits monthly.
  • Assist with controlling inventory of chemicals and supplies.
  • Responsible for the supervision, development and training of Team members.
  • Management of Team members timecards and working schedules.
  • Execute hatchery programs, procedures and safety standards for sanitation, Inovo injection, equipment operation, animal welfare.
  • Assist with monitoring programs including evaluating chick quality, cleanliness, and various biological aspects.

Job Description

Pay Range: $69,300-$80,885 per year.

Purpose of Position:

Provide support to the Hatchery Manager to maintain the goal of producing the highest quality chick at the lowest possible cost.
