Bell & Evans in Fredericksburg, PA is seeking a Production Supervisor to oversee daily operations of the assigned department, manage hourly staff, and ensure goals for quality, safety, and productivity are met.

You will collaborate with supervisors and managers, train and develop team members, monitor staffing, and enforce policies, with a focus on safety and GMP/SSOP/HACCP compliance.

Strong leadership and data literacy are essential to address issues quickly and maintain high performance.

Qualifications

  • Minimum HS Diploma or equivalent; college preferred but not required.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience or ability to function as an effective leader.
  • Ability to read and utilize production data and reports.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate daily with superintendent and operations managers to align priorities and production needs.
  • Make decisions and utilize staff to achieve dept. goals for quality, safety, and productivity.
  • Coordinate staffing with other dept supervisors to optimize coverage and priorities.
  • Train and develop team members for key positions and backups.
  • Select staff and administer discipline per company policy.
  • Control overtime, waste, yields, and order fill to meet department goals.
  • Communicate daily priorities, schedules, and performance results to hourly staff.
  • Proactively address safety and quality concerns to ensure production of safe, high-quality products.

Job Summary

The Supervisor’s is responsible for overseeing the day to day operations of the department assigned, the hourly staff, ensuring that dept. goals are met in regards to product quality, GMP/SSOP and HACCP standards, team member safety, order fill and productivity, maintaining staffing, and administering and discipline in accordance with team member handbook.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

include the following.Any other duties or responsibilities assigned by manager

  • Supervisor will communicate daily with superintendent and operations managers to ensure that priorities and daily production needs are understood and communicated effectively to staff.
  • Make decisions and utilize staff to fulfill dept goals for quality, safety, and productivity.
  • Communicate with other dept supervisors and managers to ensure that staffing is best utilized, and priorities met.
  • Training and development of team members for all key positions and backups.
  • Selection of team members and administering of discipline and policy within the dept.
  • Controlling of OT, waste, yields, and order fill to meet measured dept. goals.
  • Communication of daily priorities, schedules, and performance results vs. goal to hourly staff. Designation and utilization of hourly team members to fulfill dept. obligations to safety teams and other task force teams.
  • Take a proactive role in assuring safe, quality products are produced by immediately addressing any safety or quality concerns.
Supervisory Responsibilities

Responsible for all hourly team members in given department.

Demonstrated basic knowledge of animal welfare and handling and specific knowledge of the department processes. Demonstrated ability to effectively select, train, and manage staff in order to fulfill dept goals. Ability to effectively administer discipline and coaching according to company policies. Effective decision-making skills. Effective skills in reading and utilizing data provided from accounting and production reports.

Education and/or Experience

Minimum HS Diploma or equivalent. College preferred but not required. Experience in a leadership role or demonstrated ability to function as an effective leader.
