Job summary

Pilgrim's Pride seeks a Hatchery Supervisor at the Ellijay Complex to lead operations in chick delivery, egg procurement, and production support. This role oversees fleet, safety, and shift coverage, ensuring efficient hatchery performance and adherence to DOT records and company policies.

The ideal candidate has at least three years in hatchery or supervisor roles, strong people and communication skills, and proficiency with Microsoft Office and SAP systems.

Qualifications

• Three years hatchery or live production experience and/or three years plant supervisor experience.
• Previous supervisory experience preferred.
• Good people skills and ability to lead and motivate teams.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Basic computer skills including Word and Excel.
• SAP experience preferred.
• Strong safety record and commitment to safe work practices.
• Able to serve on call nights and weekends as scheduled.

Responsibilities

• Supervise driver fleet for chick delivery and egg pickup; manage related records and GPS reviews.
• Oversee egg procurement and scheduling for set/set operations.
• Supervise inovojection processes and transfer crews.
• Assist in supervising production and maintenance through supervision partners.
• Serve as backup to SAP Buy It/SAP Grow It/Timekeeping.
• Maintain safe work environment; conduct safety training and weekly inspections.
• Hire, schedule, discipline, evaluate staff and manage performance.
• Supervise other hatchery departments during vacations or leaves.
• Promote continuous improvement across operations.
• Perform other duties as assigned by plant manager.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Supervise driver fleet, both chick delivery and egg pickup. Responsible for all Pilgrim's Pride and DOT transportation related records and reports. Responsible for GPS system reviews.
• Supervise egg procurement and set/set schedule.
• Supervise inovojection process and transfer crews.
• Assist in the supervision of production and maintenance through production supervisor and maintenance AA partner.
• Serve as backup to SAP Buy It/SAP Grow It/Timekeeping.
• Maintain safe work environment, conduct safety training and safety meetings as scheduled. Conduct weekly safety inspection.
• Supervisory responsibilities for personnel assigned, including hiring, scheduling, disciplinary procedures, evaluations, etc.
• Supervision of other hatchery departments as necessary to cover vacations or leaves.
• Promote continuous improvement.
• Other duties as assigned by plant manager.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION REQUIREMENT:

High School or GED, College Degree Preferred.

EXPERIENCE:

• Three years hatchery or live production experience and/or three years plant supervisor experience.
