Perdue Farms is seeking a Hatchery Process Lead for the 2nd shift in Salisbury, MD. You will guide and train hatchery associates, monitor equipment, and maintain environmental conditions to deliver healthy chicks to growers.

The role requires overseeing egg setters and hatchers, performing routine checks, coordinating nightly logistics, and ensuring compliance with sanitation and safety standards. Onsite, with competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Preferred: 1 year of experience in hatchery processing.
• Some basic mechanical/electrical knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Monitor egg setters and hatchers' temperatures and humidity.
• Perform machine checks every three hours.
• Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions promptly.
• Coordinate nightly effluent shipments and verify shipping documents.
• Arrange flocks within the effluent room for required set times.
• Reload the effluent trough with filled buggies.
• Ensure effluent room is cleaned and disinfected weekly.
• Prepare set sheets and ensure proper effluent rotation.
• Coordinate setting of effluent buggies nightly.
• Prepare hatchery for daily processing.
• Coordinate padding of chick boxes nightly and manage waste flows.
• Oversee salmonella intervention with formaldehyde per protocol.
• Oversee hatchery disinfection in all set and hatch halls.
• Operate wash machine for chick boxes weekly.
