Job summary

Peco Foods, Inc. seeks a Hatchery Supervisor in Mississippi to oversee the hatchery operation and trucking fleet, ensuring quality chicks at a competitive cost.

You will work with the assistant hatchery managers to implement procedures, supervise the direct and indirect staff, and uphold safety, biosecurity, and regulatory standards.

This role requires coordinating training, producing daily hatchery reports, and maintaining staffing levels to meet production goals.

Qualifications

• Supervisory experience in hatchery or poultry operations.
• Knowledge of safety and training requirements (DOT provisions).
• Ability to safely handle chemicals, vaccines, and medications.
• Willingness to work in a production environment with varying conditions.

Responsibilities

• Directs hatchery operations and trucking fleet.
• Supervises 2 direct and 14 indirect staff.
• Coordinates annual employee training on safety, DOT provisions, and maintenance.
• Computes daily and weekly hatchery reports and related objectives.
• Ensures compliance with animal welfare, biosecurity and government regulations.

Job description

• Overall responsibility is to pick up hatch eggs, hatch and deliver quality chicks at a competitive cost.

• Directly supervises at least 2 employees and indirectly supervises at least 14 employees.

Responsible for directing, controlling, coordinating and maintaining all aspects of the hatchery operation and trucking fleet.

Works closely with the assistant hatchery managers to develop and ensure the proper procedures are implemented to obtain optimum results.

Provide the broiler department with the best broiler chick possible.

Responsible for coordinating annual employee training involving safety, DOT provisions, and maintenance.

• Computing daily and weekly hatchery reports and spreadsheets in their relationship to objectives.
• Coordinating set times, proper hatcher/incubator machine ftmction and monitors room controllers.

Follow animal welfare and biosecurity programs and ensure that employees are trained and following these standards.

• Handles and ensures employees handle various chemicals, vaccines, and medications safely,

Maintain adequate staffing.

Ensure compliance with all applicable government agencies and regulations.

Physical Demands:

e Sitting/standing/walking and driving 100% of the workday.

e Working in normal room environment, outside environment, and in cold, hot, humid, and dusty conditions.

• Lifting various weights on an as needed basis.

Physically able to climb a ladder at various heights.
