Job summary

Pilgrim's Hatchery Team in Moorefield, WV seeks a hands-on Hatchery Labor to support incubation, egg handling, chick hatching, and quality checks while upholding strict biosecurity and safety standards.

You will operate specialized equipment, work in a fast-paced environment, and contribute to clean work areas, accurate data recording, and teamwork. High school diploma preferred; bilingual English/Spanish helpful; 100+ lb lifting, 100°F work would be routine.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma/GED preferred.
• Poultry or food industry experience is a plus.
• Ability to multitask, communicate clearly, and work as a team.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Handle and set eggs in incubators according to procedures.
• Monitor incubation conditions to ensure optimal hatching.
• Assist with chick hatching and transfer with proper care.
• Perform quality checks on eggs and chicks for health and biosecurity.
• Clean and sanitize equipment and work areas to meet safety guidelines.
• Follow biosecurity and animal welfare protocols to protect flock health.
• Record data on egg counts, hatch rates, and chick quality for reporting.
• Assist with chick vaccination and preparation for transport.
• Other duties as assigned.
