Co–Star is seeking a backend engineer in New York to help scale our astrology platform. You will work with product, design, and other engineers to deliver high-quality back-end systems that power millions of interactions daily.

You will contribute to robust documentation, comprehensive testing, and end-to-end ownership of features from design through deployment, while collaborating across teams to ensure reliable, scalable solutions and fast iteration.

Qualifications

• 3-7 years of backend development experience; knowledge or willingness to learn Haskell.
• You value good documentation and testing; written, tested code is essential.
• Ownership over work end-to-end, accountability for results, and team support.

Responsibilities

• Partner with product, design, and engineers to deliver high-quality solutions aligned with priorities.
• Break down complex problems; provide insight, guidance and write clear tradeoffs.
• Own delivery, move quickly, and ship code into production with feedback.
