Job summary

Consol Pennsylvania Coal Company, Harvey Mine, seeks a Section Supervisor - Underground to oversee safe coal production and the movement of equipment. This supervisory role entails coordinating with engineering and maintenance to ensure efficient, compliant operations and a strong safety focus.

The successful candidate will lead shift teams, enforce Absolute ZERO safety culture, and ensure readiness, adherence to policies, and safe handling of heavy equipment in an underground environment.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age.
• PA Mine Examiner/Assistant Mine Foreman/Underground Bituminous Mine Foreman certification required.
• Pennsylvania Experienced Miner Certificate required.
• Overtime, weekends and holidays may be required.
• Shift rotation availability required.
• Capable of heavy work and near moving equipment.
• Ability to understand mining concepts and safety strategies.

Position Title : Section Supervisor - Underground

Location / Subsidiary : Harvey Mine / Consol Pennsylvania Coal Company

Position Summary

This position is a supervisory role, responsible for the safe production of coal and the installation and movement of equipment and machinery that supports coal production.

Target Responsibilities

• Must safely, effectively, and efficiently work and respond to changing conditions within the mine


• Must be able to safely operate underground mining equipment


• Supervise sections that may include longwall, continuous miner, construction, belt and/or out-by work. May provide supervision for de-gas activities


• Performs key supervisory responsibilities such as goal setting, planning, training and performance evaluation. Communicates changes and company policies and procedures to employees


• Coordinates and communicates with engineering, maintenance and other departments or shifts as needed to maintain an efficient and safe operation


• May perform the duties of other production, operations or maintenance foreman. May assume the duties of the shift foreman due to absence


• Must ensure that body mechanics, equipment, and tools are utilized in a safe and responsible manner


• Responsible for the safe and efficient production of coal and/or assistance in the production of coal in general work areas


• Requires being reliable, responsible, and dependable, and fulfilling obligations


• Must comply with company policies, federal and state laws, and regulatory standards

Minimum Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age


• Requires certification by Pennsylvania as one of the following: Mine Examiner, Assistant Mine Foreman, or as a mine foreman for underground Bituminous Coal Mines


• Requires Pennsylvania Experienced Miner Certificate


• Must be available to work overtime, weekends and holidays as schedule requires


• Must be able to work as scheduled and arrive to the worksite promptly to receive work assignment and prepare for the start of the shift


• Must be able to work a shift rotation


• Must be able to work safely and effectively as a part of a team


• Must be able to perform heavy work as defined by the Dictionary of Occupational Titles which may include but not limited to lift, carry, pull/push, climb, shovel, walk, or pry. *Physical demands of the job are subject to change based on industry demands


• Must be able to work on/near moving equipment as required by job


• Must be able to understand and grasp mining concepts and safety strategies
