Tyson Foods is seeking candidates for Food Production - Harvest on the Kill Floor in Union City, TN. The role involves humane slaughter processes, live animal handling, and deboning preparation.

Starting pay is $21.95 per hour for 1st shift, with duties including safety, quality checks, and on-the-job training of new team members. Applicants must meet the 6-month recent work experience requirement and comply with PPE and safety rules.

Qualifications

• 6 months work experience with one employer in the last 24 months.

Responsabilités

• Must be trained in the humane handling of livestock in accordance with the Humane Slaughter Act.
• Knowledge of hydraulic cutters.
• Keep work area clean and tidy during production.
• Recondition meat that has touched an unsanitary surface.
• Visually inspect hog carcasses and trim off bruised meat and other visual contamination.
• Operate within standard operating procedures (SOPs) and Job Safety Analysis (JSAs).
• Monitor Critical Control Points (CCP) as specified in plant’s HACCP plan.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Act as key trainer for on-the-job training to new team members.
• Maintain and promote team member interest in safety.
• Help supervisors and leads with safety awareness, including informing supervisors of unsafe practices observed.
• Promoting company culture of respect for all team members at all times and notifying the plant manager when observing conduct that violates this culture or company policies.
• Manual dexterity required for performing job.
