Job summary

Harvest Floor Operator – Multi-Species Processing in Mansfield, OH is seeking a dedicated operator for a five-day, Monday–Friday schedule. This independent facility processes beef, pork, lamb, and goat and is investing in new equipment and upgrades.

Qualifications

• 1+ year harvest floor, slaughter or meat processing experience preferred.
• Physically capable of sustained standing, heavy lifting, and working in hot, cold, and damp conditions.
• Able to read, write, and communicate in English.

Responsibilities

• Perform all phases of the harvest process including stunning, bleeding, skinning, eviscerating, splitting, and trimming.
• Handle livestock humanely and in accordance with all animal welfare requirements.
• Trim, wash, and weigh carcasses to meet quality and compliance standards.
• Maintain knife sharpness and keep harvest floor equipment in proper working condition throughout the shift.
• Keep workstations, walls, equipment, and the harvest floor clean and sanitized at all times.
• Follow all HACCP protocols and food safety requirements without exception.
• Support barn duties including weighing, feeding, and watering livestock as skills develop.
• Assist with general sanitation and end-of-shift cleanup procedures.

What They Need

• Physically capable of sustained standing, heavy lifting, and working in hot, cold, and damp conditions throughout a full shift
• Knife skills or a clear interest in developing them on the job
• Agricultural or livestock handling background is a plus
• Familiarity with beef primal and subprimal cuts is a plus
• Dependable, safety-focused, and able to work as part of a close-knit production team
• Able to read, write, and communicate in English
