Job summary

United States Sugar Corp in Florida is seeking a Harvest Mechanic I to assist in maintenance, service and repair of sugar cane harvesting equipment in a fast-paced, team environment.

Responsibilities include repairing and maintaining harvest equipment such as cane elevators and harvesters, performing time-based repairs, and supporting parts changes. Candidates should have at least 2 years in agriculture and a commitment to safe, quality work.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of agriculture work experience.
• Ability to follow instructions, safety and housekeeping procedures, and planned work schedules.
• Demonstrated motivation to learn basic mechanical concepts (mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, HVAC, pneumatic).
• Must have strong communication to share information for safety on site.

Responsibilities

• Safely, correctly, and efficiently assist with the repair and maintenance of all Harvest Equipment including cane elevators, cane harvesters, tractors, air compressors, and other support equipment
• Assist with performing time based repairs and inspections
• Deliver and assist with changing parts and components on equipment
• Operate various lifting devices including proper rigging procedures
• Paint, wash and clean equipment
