Job summary

Harvest Architecture, LLC Employer is seeking a full-time Junior Designer for our South Pasadena, CA studio. We focus on historic homes and blend old with new in residential design.

The candidate will assist with schematic, design development and construction documents using AutoCAD and SketchUp, coordinate with consultants, and help with admin tasks in a collaborative team environment. Must live in LA area with 1–3 years experience and be a U.S. citizen or green card holder.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture or Interior Architecture.
  • 1-3 years experience in Architecture and/or Design.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Be quick thinking and self-motivating.
  • Follow direction from team leaders.
  • Able to prioritize and multitask in a highly charged team environment.
  • California driver's license and daily use of your own vehicle.
  • US citizenship or US Green Card.
  • Must reside in the Los Angeles area; no relocation or remote work.
  • Love old buildings and working with a K9 colleague in the office.

Responsibilities

  • Help the team prepare schematic, design development and construction documents using CAD and 3-D modeling.
  • Assist with building surveys and as-built plan preparation.
  • Coordinate with other consultants, product suppliers, contractors and city agencies.
  • Drive your own vehicle to product showrooms, consultant offices, job sites, etc.

Harvest Architecture is a residential design studio dedicated to the evolution of architecture through time. Our work has long focused on historic homes, mixing old with new in creative ways while respecting the integrity of the original structure.

We are seeking a full-time Junior Designer with outstanding design, organization and production skills who is passionate about great architecture and willing to break the mold - because that's how we are.

Must Haves
  • Bachelors of Architecture or Interior Architecture.
  • 1-3 years experience in Architecture and/or Design.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Be quick thinking and self-motivating.

  • Love old buildings, old objects and working with a K9 colleague in the office (the most adorable chocolate lab you'll ever meet !)
Required Skills
  • Excellent and precise skills in AutoCAD and SketchUp.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word/Excel) and Adobe Creative software.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English.
Duties
  • Help the team prepare schematic, design development and construction documents using CAD and 3-D modeling.
  • Assist with building surveys and as-built plan preparation.
  • Coordinate with other consultants, product suppliers, contractors and city agencies.
  • Drive your own vehicle to product showrooms, consultant offices, job sites etc.
  • Assisting the Office Manager with admin tasks such as filing, ordering supplies, collecting lunch, emptying trash etc.

  • Expediting experience at various governmental agencies.
