Job summary

F5 is seeking a Hardware Development Engineer in Spokane Valley to drive validation of high-speed hardware products. You will work with senior engineers to design, test, and validate electronic parts, assemblies, and interfaces across the product lifecycle.

The role requires 2–3 years in hardware validation, BSEE or equivalent, and experience with lab equipment. Strong scripting and FPAG knowledge are valued, with opportunities to contribute across cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• 2–3 years in electrical validation or hardware testing.
• Experience with lab equipment such as oscilloscope, VNA, and BERT.
• Familiarity with high-speed protocols and FPGA workflows.
• Scripting skills in Python, MATLAB, or LabVIEW.
• Intel Xeon platform experience and Ethernet/optical validation.
• Knowledge of SI/PI simulation tools and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

• Apply hardware engineering concepts in designing, developing, implementing, and testing minor components of sophisticated electronic products.
• Collaborate with senior hardware engineers and managers to develop electronic parts, coordinated circuitry, mechanical systems, and packaging.
• Collaborate on schematic/layout reviews and compliance testing.
• Test, debug, and verify electronic systems and products, and assist with test reports.
• Validate high-speed interfaces: PCIe Gen5/Gen6, DDR5, 400Gb Ethernet.
• Perform SI/PI analysis and power margin testing.
• Support board bring-up and debug of prototype platforms.
• Automate test setups using Python, LabVIEW, etc.
• Collaborate on reliability assessments of materials and production techniques.
• Prepare and deliver findings for colleagues and managers.
