Job summary

Hewlett Packard Enterprise seeks a Hardware Tools and Libraries Intern to join our hardware tools team in California. You will learn and support the design environment, install CAD tools, and build scripts to automate tasks from concept to prototype.

You will gain hands-on experience with Linux and PC environments, work on scripting with Python/Tcl, and interact with IT to resolve issues while mentored by senior tools engineers.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering.
• Coursework in programming and scripting.
• Strong interest in hardware design and its environment and methodology.
• Analytical mindset and problem-solving ability.
• Working knowledge of Linux environment.
• Strong desire to learn and investigate new areas of interest.

Responsibilities

• Develop new scripts or update existing scripts that monitor status and well-being of our design environment and servers used by hardware design teams.
• Help debug and root cause issues with CAD design tools and related environment, setup files, and server/network requirements.
• Interact with IT to identify user issues requiring IT involvement such as login, environment, machine, network, and filer access between PC and remote Linux servers.
• Help download and install complex design tools, create/update setup files, test the environment, and hand over to end users.
• Write scripts that run on Linux or PC; document and update existing scripts to automate engineering design flow.
