Job summary

Futran Solutions in Santa Clara, CA seeks a Hardware Test Engineer to triage, validate and diagnose PC and server hardware. You will design diagnostic tools, automate tests with Python and Shell, and work with motherboards and GPUs in lab environments.

Responsibilities include identifying setup issues, handling test failures with structured troubleshooting, and collaborating across teams to support diagnostics, validation, and smooth NPI transitions. Linux/Windows proficiency required.

Qualifications

• BS Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Strong scripting skills in Python and Shell.
• Familiarity with Windows and Linux OS environments.
• Working knowledge of hardware protocols: Ethernet, Infiniband, PCIe, USB, HDMI, I2C, SPI.
• Experience with CPUs and GPUs.
• Proficient in using test equipment for diagnostics and validation.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Linux or scripting experience is a huge plus

Responsibilities

• Perform first-level hardware triage and troubleshooting for PCs and server platforms.
• Design and implement diagnostic tools and scripts for early hardware validation.
• Identify and resolve setup issues and test failures using structured troubleshooting methodologies.
• Develop and maintain test automation using Shell and Python scripting.
• Work with motherboards and GPU platforms in lab environments.
• Work with systems connected by networking protocols including Ethernet, NVLink and InfiniBand.
• Operate in Windows and Linux operating systems for test and debug tasks.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support diagnostics, validation, and smooth product transitions in the NPI cycle.
