Job summary

fab2, a hardware startup with offices in Austin, TX, is seeking a Hardware Test Engineer to bridge multiple teams. You will characterize tools, design and execute tests, and push hardware limits while diagnosing complex failures. A portfolio of your builds is expected and valued.

Within months, you will independently solve advanced problems for positioning tools and scale impact across teams. We value speed—build/test in days or weeks, not months, and demonstrate your prior projects.

Qualifications

• 2 years of experience as a test engineer or applications engineer
• Ability to write code and create automated testing programs from scratch
• Hands-on capability to build and run electrical tests
• Strong mechanical intuition with a detail-oriented, scientific mindset
• Clear, fast verbal and written communication across engineering disciplines

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end characterization of tools and define criteria to measure
• Build software testing programs from scratch
• Diagnose complex system errors with cross-functional teams
• Lead with concise written and verbal communication
• Set timelines and ensure rigorous documentation and testing standards
