Base pay range

$30.00/hr - $65.00/hr

Hardware Test Engineers (Senior, Midlevel, Junior, and Entry Level) needed for Contract to PERMANENT Full-Time positions with a medical device imaging hardware/software company located in Raleigh, NC.

REQUIRED SKILLS/ATTRIBUTES for Senior or Midlevel:

  • Electronic hardware testing
  • Low-Voltage Systems
  • Analog or Digital circuit design or testing, circuit simulator operation, PCB board design
  • Hardware interface knowledge (e.g., SPI, LVDS, DDR)
  • FPGA, LSI, or ASIC design or testing
  • EMC (EMI/EMS) Analysis and Countermeasure
  • Hardware testing validation for electronics (functional, safety, reliability)
  • Draw basic schematics using Altium, AutoCAD, or similar tools
  • Prefer experience in regulated industries like medical devices, aerospace, automotive, or knowledge of FDA, ISO 13485, IEC 60601 (not required)

REQUIRED SKILLS/ATTRIBUTES for Junior or Entry Level:

  • Recent college graduate with a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Electronic Engineering, or similar
  • Some experience in embedded software coding
  • Willing to train Junior and Entry Level Engineers

The Hardware Test Engineers will:

  • Perform electrical hardware testing on medical device products
  • Write test plans, create test cases, execute tests, report results
  • Design and test Low-Voltage Electronic Systems (Analog & Digital circuits, PCB)
  • Test hardware interfaces (SPI, LVDS, DDR)
  • Design and test circuits like FPGA, LSI, ASIC
  • Perform EMC/EMI analysis and countermeasures
  • Validate electronic medical devices (functional, safety, reliability)
  • Learn FDA standards (ISO 13485, IEC 60601)
  • Use testing tools (oscilloscopes, multimeters, analyzers, signal generators)
  • Conduct verification and validation testing
  • Utilize data acquisition software, scripting languages (Python, LabVIEW, MATLAB)
  • Troubleshoot hardware issues and perform root cause analysis
  • Document test protocols, results, and reports
  • Interpret test results and identify issues
  • Troubleshoot hardware/software interactions affecting device performance
  • Collaborate with engineering, QA, and regulatory teams to ensure standards compliance
  • Support technical and customer support teams
  • Meet deadlines and adapt to shifting priorities
