Job summary

New Eagle LLC. seeks a Test Engineer to own the full lifecycle of hardware test from production end-of-line testing through DV/PV test development for new products.

The role bridges routine production test operations with forward-looking test strategy across development teams and external test houses. The candidate will write test specifications, coordinate with hardware design, manufacturing, and test equipment teams, and support ICP and gang programming to ensure efficient production

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
  • 0–5 years of experience in hardware test engineering, production test, or product validation.
  • Familiarity with embedded hardware test methods: end-of-line test, functional test, DV/PV test practices.
  • Ability to write clear technical test specifications and manage vendor/contractor relationships.
  • Comfortable working across production floor, engineering lab, and coordination with external test houses.

Responsibilities

  • Provide end-of-line (EOL) test and programming support for products in active production, troubleshooting test failures and minimizing production downtime.
  • Author and maintain production test specifications for existing products and products transitioning into production.
  • Manage development of production testers and programming systems for new products, coordinating requirements between hardware design, manufacturing, and test equipment development.
  • Cover both stages of production programming: first programming via in-circuit programming (ICP) at the board level using tools such as PEMicro Cyclone, and end-of-line (EOL) customer/application programming executed in a gang (multi-unit, parallel) configuration for production throughput.
  • Define DV and PV test plans and specifications for new products, ensuring test coverage aligns with product requirements and reliability targets.
  • Specify DV and PV test equipment (fixtures, testers, automation) required to execute these test plans.
  • Manage design and construction of DV/PV test equipment for new product programs, directing a mix of internal engineering resources and external vendors/contractors.
  • Coordinate execution of DV and PV test programs between in-house test resources and external contract test houses, tracking schedule, scope, and results across both.

Job description

New Eagle's Hardware Team is seeking a Test Engineer to own the full lifecycle of hardware test — from production end-of-line test support through Design Verification (DV) and Production Validation (PV) test development for new products. This role bridges day-to-day production test operations with forward-looking test strategy for products still in development, and requires someone comfortable moving between hands-on lab work, technical specification writing, and coordination with internal teams and external test houses.

Key Responsibilities

Production Test Support

DV/PV Test Specification (New Product Development)

  • Define Design Verification (DV) and Production Validation (PV) test plans and specifications for new products, ensuring test coverage aligns with product requirements and reliability targets.
  • Specify DV and PV test equipment (fixtures, testers, automation) required to execute these test plans.

DV/PV Test Equipment Development

  • Manage design and construction of DV/PV test equipment for new product programs, directing a mix of internal engineering resources and external vendors/contractors.

DV/PV Execution Coordination

  • Coordinate execution of DV and PV test programs between in-house test resources and external contract test houses, tracking schedule, scope, and results across both.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field (or equivalent hands‑on experience).
  • 0–5 years of experience in hardware test engineering, production test, or product validation.
  • Familiarity with embedded hardware test methods: end‑of‑line test, functional test, DV/PV test practices.
  • Ability to write clear technical test specifications and manage vendor/contractor relationships.
  • Comfortable working across production floor, engineering lab, and coordination with external test houses.

Technical Skills

  • Test automation/software: Keysight PathWave Test Automation, OpenTAP
  • Design/documentation: Schematic capture and review, 3D CAD (fixture and enclosure design)
  • Rapid prototyping: 3D printing (fixture and prototype fabrication)
  • CAN communication/programming tools: familiarity with tools such as Kvaser
  • First programming / in‑circuit programming (ICP): development and production programming tools such as PEMicro Cyclone
  • End‑of‑line customer/application programming: gang (multi‑unit, parallel) programming systems for production throughput

Desired Attributes

  • A passionate team member who takes ownership rather than waiting for direction.
  • Strong problem‑solver who can troubleshoot down to root cause under production time pressure.
  • Genuine interest in evaluating and deploying new test technologies and methodologies to improve test coverage, speed, and reliability.
