Job summary

Target is seeking a data engineering specialist to power hardware observability data infrastructure in the Minneapolis area. You will build scalable data pipelines, ensure data quality, and collaborate across engineering groups to deliver robust telemetry solutions.

This hybrid role requires a 4-year degree or equivalent, 1+ years in data engineering, and strong Python/Java skills to support SecOps, DevOps, and Observability initiatives.

Qualifications

• 4 year degree or equivalent experience.
• 1+ years of data engineering, observability engineering, infrastructure data, or related technical experience.
• Understands data schemas, ETL/ELT patterns, batch and streaming data processing, and pipeline reliability.
• Proficiency in at least one general programming language (Python, Java) and one domain-specific language for data pipelines.
• Understands data quality concepts and can implement validation checks, monitoring, and issue investigation.

Responsibilities

• Use your data engineering skills to support Target’s Infrastructure organization by helping build, maintain, and improve reliable data pipelines for hardware observability data.
• Partner with engineering consumers across SecOps, DevOps, and Observability use cases to ensure data is available, trusted, and easy to use.
