Job summary

HireArt, Inc. is seeking a Hardware Technician - Electrical Engineering in Pittsburgh, PA, to support build, integration, testing, and troubleshooting of electrical systems across autonomous truck platforms.

You will install and validate wiring, harnesses, and power distribution, read schematics, and collaborate with mechanical/software teams in a fast-paced prototype environment.

Qualifications

  • An associate degree or technical certification in electrical/electronics technology, automotive technology, or equivalent hands-on experience.
  • 2+ years of experience with automotive or industrial electrical distribution systems, wiring harness builds, or related work.
  • Proficiency in reading electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
  • Working knowledge of low-voltage vehicle electrical systems.
  • Familiarity with NEC, NFPA 70E, or equivalent electrical safety standards.
  • Hands-on experience with hand tools, power tools, torque tools, crimping tools, and test equipment, including multimeters, continuity testers, and oscilloscopes.

Responsibilities

  • Install, integrate, and validate electrical distribution systems, including wiring harnesses, power distribution units, fuses, relays, and connectors.
  • Build, test, repair, and troubleshoot automotive-grade wiring harnesses and electrical systems.
  • Work with mechanical and software teams to translate power and signal requirements into robust electrical distribution solutions.
  • Support vehicle build, integration, and test cycles, including basic mechanical assembly related to sensor, actuator, connector, and bracket installation.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and harness drawings to diagnose and resolve issues.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of builds, test results, and issue resolution using PLM and document control tools.

HireArt is helping our client find Hardware Technicians - Electrical Engineering to support the build, integration, testing, and troubleshooting of electrical systems across autonomous truck platforms.

As a Hardware Technician - Electrical Engineering, you'll:

  • Build, test, repair, and troubleshoot automotive-grade wiring harnesses and electrical systems, identifying faults, shorts, and wiring issues.
  • Work with mechanical and software teams to translate power and signal requirements into robust electrical distribution solutions.
  • Support vehicle build, integration, and test cycles, including basic mechanical assembly related to sensor, actuator, connector, and bracket installation.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and harness drawings to diagnose and resolve technical issues.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of builds, test results, and issue resolution using PLM and document control tools.
Requirements
