Job summary

eero, an Amazon company, seeks an experienced Hardware System Architect to lead the design of next-generation hardware products. You will define system-level requirements, select chipsets, and drive architectural decisions across cross-functional teams to align with product and business objectives.

The role requires deep expertise in system architecture, chipset technologies, wireless integration, and leadership to guide hardware programs from concept to launch.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related fields.
  • Knowledge of hardware architectures and RF system integration.
  • Proven experience with system-level performance analysis, power modeling, and thermal design.
  • Experience evaluating and selecting chipset vendors and managing vendor relationships.
  • Track record of shipping successful hardware products.

Responsibilities

  • Define system-level requirements and architecture for next-generation hardware products, evaluating trade-offs in performance, power efficiency, thermal management, and cost
  • Evaluate and select chipset vendors through technical assessments of capabilities, roadmaps, and competitive positioning
  • Conduct competitive analysis including product teardowns, performance benchmarking, and market trend identification to inform product strategy
  • Design product features and system architectures that optimize user experience while meeting technical and business constraints
  • Analyze system performance across power, thermal, and processing metrics using modeling and simulation to validate architectural decisions
  • Drive wireless technology integration strategy, tracking evolution of 5G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and emerging standards to maximize product capabilities
  • Compare alternative architectural approaches, documenting pros and cons to enable data-driven decision-making
  • Lead cross-functional technical discussions with sourcing, product management, and executive leadership to align on product roadmap and strategic priorities
  • Collaborate with hardware engineering, software, and operations teams to ensure successful product development and launch

We are seeking an experienced Hardware System Architect to lead the design and development of next-generation hardware products. This role requires deep technical expertise in system architecture, chipset technologies, and wireless integration, combined with strong cross-functional leadership skills to drive strategic product decisions.

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related fields
  • Knowledge of hardware architectures
  • Proven experience with system-level performance analysis, power modeling, and thermal design
  • Excellent knowledge of wireless technologies and RF system integration
  • Experience evaluating and selecting chipset vendors and managing vendor relationships
  • Track record of shipping successful hardware products
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree or above in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or equivalent
  • 8+ years of consumer electronics experience
  • Knowledge of International Organization for Standardization (ISO), International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC), or regulatory requirements or standards
  • Experience working in a fast paced, quickly changing or international environment
  • Experience with competitive teardown analysis and reverse engineering
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes and design for manufacturability (DFM)

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign‑on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
