Job summary

Pentangle Tech Services | P5 Group seeks a hardware-software validation engineer in Illinois to join our R&D team. You will own the hardware bench and ensure reliable sensor, wiring, and Datalink interactions.

You will also design and execute software tests, automate validation, and collaborate with Jenkins, Google Test, GitHub Enterprise Actions, and Azure DevOps. A strong background in C++ or Python is preferred along with an EE-influenced mindset.

Qualifications

• Create and execute tests for hardware-software integration with sensors and Datalink.
• Troubleshoot sensor connections and validate Datalink communication.
• Familiarity with test automation and software-hardware validation workflows.

Job description

• 50% Hardware Bench Ownership – manage hardware setup, sensors, wiring, connections, wiring diagrams, and pinouts.
• Troubleshoot sensor connections and Datalink communication issues.
• 50% Software Validation – create test cases and perform lower-level software testing.
• Work with Jenkins, Google Test, GitHub Enterprise Actions, and Azure DevOps.
• Support automated testing and validate software interaction with hardware.
• C++ or Python development/testing knowledge is preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred; EE background is a plus, but skills are more important.
