Position Summary:

A Hardware Project Manager coordinates all aspects of a product or service offering project for a client, from inception to installation. Installations may involve acceptance of capitalized equipment such as linacs or radiation treating systems which integrate with enterprise software systems, or system integration with supporting radiation equipment or consulting projects/engagements. You will commonly travel to and work at the client site for inspections. Travel may compose up to 80-85% of your work with the remainder being home office/remote for your district. This role typically involves extensive interaction with sales and other members of cross‑functional teams. Our projects are typically focused on the delivery of new or enhanced products to improve customer satisfaction through the use of technology. Project management skills, rather than technical skills, are key, but a technical background is required to manage competing interests.

A successful candidate typically:

  • Oversees schedules and revenue forecasting to ensure goal attainment
  • Reviews purchase orders noting any unusual service requirements and follow up with appropriate function
  • Meets with customers/customers contractors and perform site visits and help the customer prepare their facility for a successful and efficient installation
  • Monitors customer facility preparation and coordinate equipment shipment schedules to ensure timely and effective installation and commissioning of equipment
  • Provide reports indicating installation activities and analyzing schedules
  • Builds expert knowledge in our industry and conveys knowledge to others through the generation of procedures, FAQs, and other technical documentation
  • Lends expertise to internal teams and task forces
  • Works across practices to share lessons learned and best practices
Hardware Project Manager Specific Requirements
  • Advise customers on complex facility requirements, needs and/or changes including, safety requirements, architectural room layout and electrical, plumbing and HVAC requirements
  • Manages the day-to-day operational and tactical aspects of multiple small to medium scale projects
  • Performs routine project management and site planning to ensure customer compliance with building and technical requirements, both Varian's and local municipalities, for equipment installations
  • High level review of bids from building and rigging contractors and monitor contracts for quality and workmanship
  • Maintains knowledge of building codes, OSHA, and other legal requirements related to the construction industry and Varian specific data packages/drawings
  • Must live in West Zone to support travel requirements for site inspections.
Minimum Required Skills and Knowledge
  • Experience in project management, field customer service, construction management, architecture, or engineering
  • General knowledge of construction and electrical codes and government radiation regulations
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must have strong customer service acumen

  • PMI training and certification is desired
  • Obtains and completes training plan specific to assigned responsibility
  • Experience Level with Business Tools: Proficient in utilizing business tools such as:
    • Salesforce, Microsoft Office (Outlook, Project, Visio, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
    • Experience with HCM (e.g., Workday) or equivalent ERP product and productivity software desired
  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience) and 5 years of related experience or Master's Degree with 3 years of related experience

The base pay range for this position is:

$98,140 - $134,937

Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

If this is a commission eligible position the commission eligibility will be in accordance with the terms of the Company's plan. Commissions are based on individual performance and/or company performance.

Position must have full access to Siemens Healthineers' client sites to perform the essential functions of this position.
