Standard Bots is seeking a Hardware Product Manager to own a hardware product area from a blank sheet to a fielded solution. You will partner with mechanical, electrical, and firmware engineers to validate market needs, define product specs, and drive a 0-1 transformation.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in hardware product management, ideally with hands-on robotics experience.
• Experience taking a hardware product from 0-1 through concept, validation, and release.
• Comfort with iterative testing using physical prototypes, not just software.
• Built and shipped products you’re proud of with strong design and craft sense.
• Ability to break down customer and market problems into structured decisions.

Responsibilities

• Own product discovery, strategy, and delivery for a hardware product area from 0-1—from market insight through to a shipped product.
• Build a sharp market POV: customer needs, solutions, competitor gaps, and true opportunity.
• Drive iterative testing loops—prototype, test in real conditions, learn, and adapt quickly.
• Engage with customers: talk to users, visit sites, observe how hardware is used in the field.
• Define what we’re building with clear specs and requirements engineers can run with.
• Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and firmware engineers to balance cost, manufacturability, and schedule.
• Work with design and engineering to validate assumptions early to de-risk future work.
