Overview

Insight Global is looking for a Product Designer to support end to end UI/UX/ID design for consumer facing products. Candidates will join a team that does end to end product design for screens embedded into physical products. They will be responsible for building and delivering a customer experience solution that aligns with screens interacting with hardware and create detailed and comprehensive system documentation to be utilized for development. It is important that candidates have experience with end to end design and understand the full design lifecycle of a physical product that is interactive for consumers. Understanding how to connect applications both web and mobile to a hardware product is also a need for this role. Candidates will support project initiatives by maintaining a strong documentation process for all steps of the UX design life cycle and collaborate with industrial design, agency and testing teams. They should be comfortable presenting decks to tell the design story and communicating with stakeholders. Candidates should come from an enterprise background and have a professional portfolio that shares modern designs and their full design thinking processes.

Responsibilities

• Build and deliver a customer experience solution for screens embedded in physical products, aligning software experiences with hardware interactions.
• Create detailed and comprehensive system documentation for development teams.
• Lead end-to-end UX/UI/ID design throughout the design lifecycle, including user research, usability testing, prototypes, wireframes, and mockups.
• Collaborate with industrial design, agency partners, and testing teams; present design stories to stakeholders.
• Ensure designs work across web and mobile (iOS/Android/Web UI systems) within a design system.
• Translate complex technical requirements into consumer-friendly experiences.
• Maintain strong documentation for all UX lifecycle steps and support project initiatives.

Required Skills & Experience

• 4+ years of experience as a Product Designer in enterprise environments
• Hands-on experience with industrial design or UI/UX design for consumer products
• Strong documentation with full UX design process (user research, usability testing, flow charts, prototypes, wireframes, mockups, product briefings, product launch)
• Hands-on with Figma
• Advanced in design thinking, working in a design system, and design problem solving
• Experience with web and mobile application design — iOS/Android/Web UI systems
• Strong communication skills to work with stakeholders, present design phases and solutions
• Portfolio that shows recent work and full design process

Nice to Have Skills

• HCI or HMI concepts
• Arduino or CAD/CAM for physical prototyping
• Ability to translate complex technical requirements into consumer experiences

• Base pay range: $56.00/hr - $64.00/hr
• Duration: 6 Months + extensions
• Location: Basking Ridge, NJ or NYC (10007); 2x onsite per week

• Exact compensation may vary based on factors including skills, experience, and education.
