Job summary

Hewlett Packard Enterprise is seeking a Hardware Power Engineer to join the system power hardware design team for next‑generation networking platforms. This hybrid role is based in Roseville, CA, with in‑person collaboration required 2 days per week.

The position focuses on high‑performance power delivery, ICs, and multi‑phase DC‑DC designs. The role requires 5+ years of hands-on systems power experience, a strong digital/analog power background, and proficiency with Cadence tools (OrCAD,

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electronics Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in systems power design, including integrated circuits and complex electronic systems such as servers, mobile devices, or similar platforms.
  • Strong foundation in digital and analog power circuit design; experience with power converters and power protection circuits.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop advanced hardware platforms from schematic design through board bring-up, debugging, and validation.
  • Work hands-on with complex hardware and system power designs to push performance and reliability boundaries.
  • Collaborate with global cross-functional teams to integrate power deliverables and drive products from concept into production.
  • Perform feasibility studies, design margin analysis, and validation planning for robust, manufacturable designs.
  • Execute empirical testing and root-cause analysis on new hardware to meet quality and performance goals.

We're looking for a driven and innovative Hardware Power Engineer to join our system power hardware design team, developing next‑generation networking platforms. If you thrive on technical challenges and want to work on products that truly matter, this role is for you.

As a Hardware Power Engineer, you'll be a key contributor within a highly skilled R&D organization building high‑performance, high‑quality networking products

Location:

This is a hybrid role based in Roseville, CA. You'll be expected in the office 2 days per week to collaborate in person with your product, engineering, and design partners.

Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop advanced hardware platforms, from component selection and schematic design through board bring‑up, debugging, and validation.
  • Work hands‑on with complex, hardware and system power designs that push performance and reliability boundaries.
  • Collaborate with global, cross‑functional teams to integrate power deliverables and drive products from concept into production.
  • Perform feasibility studies, design margin analysis, and validation planning to ensure robust, manufacturable designs.
  • Execute empirical testing and root‑cause analysis on new and evolving hardware to meet stringent quality and performance goals.
Education and Experience Required:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electronics Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years of hands‑on experience in systems power design, including integrated circuits and complex electronic systems such as servers, mobile devices, or similar platforms
Knowledge and Skills:
  • Strong technical foundation in both digital and analog power circuit design
  • Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex system‑level issues.
  • Solid knowledge of, and strong interest in, power converter design (single phase POL and multiphase DC‑DC), power component selection, power protection circuits, noise mitigation, and power distribution techniques.
  • Practical experience in measuring, testing, and characterizing system power delivery.
  • Proven board‑level design experience using Cadence CAD tools such as OrCAD and Allegro.
  • Proficient in programming and scripting languages including Python, Perl, and MATLAB.
Additional Preferred Abilities:
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively in cross functional technical teams, as well as work independently and make sound technical decisions when required; adaptable and willing to take on a wide range of technical projects.
  • Self‑motivated with a proven ability to build productive working relationships across engineering, operations, and stakeholder teams.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to read, interpret, and clearly explain engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.

The expected salary/wage range for this position is provided below. Actual offer may vary from this range based upon geographic location, work experience, education/training, and/or skill level.

  • - United States of America: Annual Salary USD 105,500 - 213,500 in California

The listed salary range reflects base salary. Variable incentives may also be offered.
