Job summary

Kendall Howard in Chisago City, MN, is seeking a Hardware Operator - 1st Shift to install clinch fasteners and hardware into sheet metal using insertion equipment. This role focuses on accuracy, repeatability, and safety in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

You will read blueprints, set up bowl feeders, ensure consistent insertion cycles, inspect installations, maintain equipment, and keep a clean work area.

Qualifications

• No minimum experience or education required.
• Prior experience with hardware insertion equipment is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate hardware presses to install a variety of clinch fasteners into sheet metal components.
• Configure and adjust bowl feeders to optimize feed rates, minimize handling, and maintain consistent insertion cycles.
• Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to confirm fastener type, placement, and orientation.
• Inspect and validate installations to meet dimensional, mechanical, and repeatability requirements, reporting nonconformance to quality and/or supervisors as needed.
• Maintain machine reliability through setup, adjustment, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting.
• Maintaining a clean, safe, and organized work area, following safety policies without exception.
• Assist with other duties as assigned with fabrication and assembly processes.
