Job Summary

As a Hardware Lead, you will assist the Hardware Team Leader in the day-to-day operations of the Hardware department. Your responsibilities include maximizing sales and profitability, controlling expenses, ensuring the department is well-stocked and merchandised, and providing excellent customer service.

Job Description

• Experience Required: 0 to 6 months
• Experience Desired: Industry experience in hardware, plumbing, electrical, construction, or contracting
• Education Desired: High school diploma or equivalent
• Lifting Requirement: Up to 50 pounds
• Age Requirement: At least 18 years of age

Job Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe and clean environment to meet health and OSHA requirements.
• Provide products and services that meet customer requirements and adhere to the company's values.
• Assist the Team Leader with scheduling employees and delegating work to maximize store profits.
• Manage inventories by tracking reports and ordering materials to meet customer needs and optimize profits.
• Stock merchandise, maintain shelves and displays, including product rotation.
• Respond to customer questions in a friendly and accurate manner.
• Implement merchandising plans to meet financial objectives.
• Follow proper procedures to meet out-of-stock percentage goals.
• Monitor operations to control costs and increase profitability, utilizing supply chain best practices.
• Coordinate with other departments to develop marketing strategies aligned with financial goals.
• Keep accurate records of department activities and ensure documentation is maintained.
• Assist in designing and building displays and collaborate with other departments as needed.
• Maintain cleanliness of the department through regular clean-ups.
• Operate the paper baler to make bales.
