Job Summary

As a Hardware Lead, you will assist the Hardware Team Leader in the day-to-day operations of the Hardware department. Your responsibilities include maximizing sales and profitability, controlling expenses, ensuring the department is well-stocked and merchandised, and providing excellent customer service.

Job Description

  • Experience Required: 0 to 6 months
  • Experience Desired: Industry experience in hardware, plumbing, electrical, construction, or contracting
  • Education Desired: High school diploma or equivalent
  • Lifting Requirement: Up to 50 pounds
  • Age Requirement: At least 18 years of age

Job Responsibilities

  • Maintain a safe and clean environment to meet health and OSHA requirements.
  • Provide products and services that satisfy internal and external customers, adhering to the company's values.
  • Assist the Team Leader with employee scheduling and work delegation to maximize store profits.
  • Help with inventory management by tracking reports and ordering raw materials and supplies to meet customer needs and maximize profits.
  • Stock merchandise, maintain shelves and displays, including product rotation.
  • Respond to customer questions in a friendly and accurate manner.
  • Assist in implementing merchandising plans to meet financial objectives.
  • Ensure procedures are followed to achieve out-of-stock percentage goals.
  • Monitor operations, seek ways to control costs, increase profitability, and utilize supply chain processes effectively.
  • Coordinate with other departments to develop marketing plans aligned with financial goals.
  • Keep accurate records of department activities and maintain documentation.
  • Assist with designing and building displays and collaborate with other departments as needed.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the department through regular clean-ups and sweeping.
  • Operate the paper baler to make bales as required.
