Job Summary
As a Hardware Lead, you will assist the Hardware Team Leader in the day-to-day operations of the Hardware department. Your responsibilities include maximizing sales and profitability, controlling expenses, ensuring the department is well-stocked and merchandised, and providing excellent customer service.
Job Description
- Experience Required: 0 to 6 months
- Experience Desired: Industry experience in hardware, plumbing, electrical, construction, or contracting
- Education Desired: High school diploma or equivalent
- Lifting Requirement: Up to 50 pounds
- Age Requirement: At least 18 years of age
Job Responsibilities
- Maintain a safe and clean environment to meet health and OSHA requirements.
- Provide products and services that satisfy internal and external customers, adhering to the company's values.
- Assist the Team Leader with employee scheduling and work delegation to maximize store profits.
- Help with inventory management by tracking reports and ordering raw materials and supplies to meet customer needs and maximize profits.
- Stock merchandise, maintain shelves and displays, including product rotation.
- Respond to customer questions in a friendly and accurate manner.
- Assist in implementing merchandising plans to meet financial objectives.
- Ensure procedures are followed to achieve out-of-stock percentage goals.
- Monitor operations, seek ways to control costs, increase profitability, and utilize supply chain processes effectively.
- Coordinate with other departments to develop marketing plans aligned with financial goals.
- Keep accurate records of department activities and maintain documentation.
- Assist with designing and building displays and collaborate with other departments as needed.
- Maintain cleanliness of the department through regular clean-ups and sweeping.
- Operate the paper baler to make bales as required.
