Job summary

Ventiva in Fremont, CA is seeking a skilled Lab Technician to support engineering and development teams. You will build hardware test samples and systems, manage lab infrastructure, inventory, and develop reliability test setups in a fast-paced, safety-conscious environment.

Key responsibilities include assembling prototype units, performing fine-pitch soldering under a microscope, maintaining traceability, calibrating equipment, and ensuring compliance with ESD and chemical handling protocols.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or above in Electronics, Mechatronics, or related technical field; a certificate/diploma from an accredited technical or vocational institution is also accepted.
• Minimum of 4 years directly relevant hardware/lab experience in lieu of degree.
• 2+ years in hardware development, electro‑mechanical system development, or failure analysis lab.
• Advanced manual soldering and micro‑soldering skills under a microscope.
• High proficiency with digital multimeters, continuity testers, and power supplies.
• Experience using Excel and basic script execution.
• Detail‑oriented with high accuracy in data logging and component tracking.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with cross‑functional engineering teams and adapt quickly.

Responsibilities

• Test sample/system build: assemble prototype units for time-zero and reliability tests.
• Lab infra & inventory management: track components, tools, and calibrations.
• Reliability test fixture development: design, troubleshoot, and upgrade test equipment.
• Wiring harnesses: design/assemble cable/wire harnesses and test boards.
• Documentation: complete build travelers and ensure traceability logs.
• Safety & compliance: maintain ESD, chemical handling/storage, and laser safety protocols.
