Qualifications

• Hands-on experience assembling, upgrading, and troubleshooting desktops, laptops.
• Basic electronics repair skills, including replacing screens, batteries, logic boards, and diagnosing electrical issues.
• Familiarity with sensors, peripherals, ports, and connectors, including USB, Ethernet, and CAN.
• Ability to precisely mount, assemble, and wire hardware in confined spaces.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, including basic system-level diagnostics.
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to build quality.

Responsibilities

• Assemble and install computer systems, sensors, and peripheral modules into autonomous vehicle platforms.
• Diagnose and repair hardware issues involving cables, BIOS configurations, sensors, and electronic components.
• Replace and upgrade computer hardware, including CPUs, GPUs, RAM, SSDs, and sensor modules.
• Install, organize, and troubleshoot USB, Ethernet, CAN, power, and video cabling.
• Support system bring-up through basic BIOS/UEFI configuration and driver installation.
• Test system functionality, verify connections, and maintain build quality while following electrostatic discharge (ESD) safety practices.
• Collaborate with mechanics, engineers, and software teams to ensure proper hardware integration and system performance.

Expected compensation: 25.00 - 26.00 USD Per Hour

HireArt is helping our client find a detail-oriented Hardware Integration Technician (Autonomous Systems) to assemble, install, and maintain advanced computing hardware and sensor systems in autonomous vehicles.

In this role, you'll combine computer hardware assembly, electronics repair, and automotive integration skills to build and troubleshoot the systems that support self-driving technology. You'll work hands-on with computers, sensors, wiring, and electronic components to ensure reliable performance in demanding vehicle environments.

The ideal candidate has strong computer hardware troubleshooting skills, experience with electronics assembly and repair, and excellent attention to detail. They're comfortable working with both computer components and physical hardware installations and enjoy solving technical challenges in a collaborative environment.

As a Hardware Integration Technician (Autonomous Systems), You'll

• Assemble and install computer systems, sensors, and peripheral modules into autonomous vehicle platforms.

• Knowledge of basic electrical safety, including ESD protection and safe handling of power supplies and cabling
• Ability to work independently and communicate effectively with multidisciplinary teams

Nice-to-Have

• Experience soldering and repairing mobile electronics, such as smartphones, tablets, or drones
• Familiarity with Linux installation and configuration
• Experience working with automotive or electric vehicle systems

Commitment

This is a full-time, 1-year contract position (with the possibility of extension) staffed via HireArt. It will be onsite and available to candidates local to the Irving, TX area.
