Job summary

Salt is seeking a hands‑on Hardware Engineering Manager in Sunnyvale, CA, to oversee existing hardware products and lead two new products from concept through mass production.

You will manage a small internal engineering team and collaborate with external contract manufacturers to meet aggressive timelines, ensuring design transfer, qualification, and scalable processes.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in mechanical, electrical, or hardware engineering.
• Experience taking physical hardware products through volume production with external contract manufacturers.
• Direct ownership of factory and contract manufacturing relationships.
• Strong understanding of EVT, DVT, PVT, manufacturing ramp, and product certification.
• FCC certification experience; CE and UL knowledge are advantageous.
• Hands‑on engineering background with experience leading and developing engineers.
• Experience establishing scalable engineering and quality processes.

• Establish engineering processes, quality systems, supplier qualification, and testing protocols.
• Lead and develop an internal hardware engineering team.
