Job summary

Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories, Inc. (SEL) in Pullman, WA is seeking a Hardware Engineering Intern focused on VHDL RTL digital logic for FPGA-based products in our R&D Communications group.

You will contribute to Ethernet security gateways, switches, and clock systems while learning from experienced engineers. Responsibilities include designing and coding VHDL RTL, creating test benches, and collaborating with cross-disciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering with ≥2 years of coursework.
• Strong writing, documentation and speaking abilities.
• Ability to learn quickly and work in a team.
• Experience with simulation, synthesis, and timing analysis of digital logic.
• Experience with object-oriented programming.

Responsibilities

• Analyze, design and code VHDL RTL digital logic for FPGA systems.
• Prepare and maintain RTL design documentation.
• Conduct peer design reviews.
• Write test plans and develop test benches and stimuli.
• Collaborate with cross-discipline engineers to deliver products.
