Job summary

Teradyne is seeking a PCB Signal and Power Integrity Hardware Engineer to advance high-speed board design and verification. You will develop scripts and utilities to streamline setup with Cadence, ANSYS and other tools, while supporting PCB layout decisions and routing constraints.

The role demands deep knowledge of transmission-line theory, SI/PI, EM fields and strong teamwork. Local candidates in North Reading, MA with leadership experience are favored.

Qualifications

• BS or MS EE or ECED required.
• 15+ years of experience in relevant field (internships not included).
• Cadence, Ansys, Mentor Graphics or Keysight signal extraction tools required.
• Transmission-Line Theory, Frequency and Time Domain evaluation, and EM Fields expertise.
• Strong organization, planning, collaboration and communication skills.
• Proficiency with MS PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook; CoPilot experience a plus.
• Experience with MATLAB, Python, tcl or similar languages is advantageous.
• Lab measurement experience and project leadership are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop custom code and scripts to speed up setup using Cadence tools or utilities to improve efficiency.
• Support PCB Layout through floorplanning, stack-up trade-offs and routing constraints.
• Collaborate with HW circuit design teams to tackle high-speed signal integrity and power integrity challenges.

Opportunity Overview

PCB Signal and Power Integrity Hardware Engineer

• Develop custom code and scripts to speed the process of set-up using Cadence tools, or developing software utilities that improve effectiveness or efficiency of our processes.
• Support PCB Layout efforts by assisting in Floorplanning and Stack-up trade-offs as well as defining routing constraints.
• Partner with HW circuit design teams to solve challenging High-Speed signal integrity and power integrity problems to meet tight specifications.
• Sustain/Ensure no design escapes or problems during bring-up and Design Verification by organizing and executing high priority simulations.

• BS or MSEE in Electrical Engineering or Electrical and Computer Engineering
• Minimum 15 yrs experience (internships not included)
• Primary experience needed in Cadence, Ansys, Mentor Graphics or Keysight signal extraction tools (e.g. Allegro, Sigrity, HyperLynx, EM Pro, SI Pro, ect.)
• Primary skills required in Transmission-Line Theory, Frequency and Time Domain evaluation, and EM Fields.
• Above average skills needed in organization, planning, collaboration and communication
• Must be proficient in MS PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook, and CoPilot.
• Experience with MATLAB, Python, tcl, or similar tools/languages is a plus.
• Some experience/skills in taking lab measurements is preferred but not necessary.
• Leading a team, and/or primary responsibility for a project is a plus.
