Job summary

Lucid Motors is seeking an Automotive Diagnostics Engineer to design, validate, and deploy service tooling for vehicle faults and diagnostics. You will collaborate across engineering teams and with suppliers to mature prototypes into production tools for the Service environment.

You will translate diagnostic requirements into actionable tooling, perform testing and root-cause analysis, and support fault-tree creation and diagnostic workflows. Travel as needed is expected.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of automotive diagnostics, troubleshooting, or related technical field.
• Translate diagnostic needs into practical tooling solutions for field and production environments.
• Experience with vehicle networks CAN, LIN, Automotive Ethernet, and diagnostic protocols.
• Ability to independently perform testing, root-cause analysis, validation, and issue resolution in a fast-paced environment.
• Willingness to travel as needed to support testing, validation, implementation, or training activities.

The Role:

Expectations:

• 2+ years of Automotive Experience in automotive diagnostics, troubleshooting, validation, systems engineering, or a related technical field.
• Ability to identify service and diagnostic needs and translate requirements into practical tooling solutions for field and production environments.
• Ability to independently perform testing, root cause analysis, validation, and issue resolution in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience in vehicle communication networks including CAN, LIN, Automotive Ethernet, and diagnostic protocols.
• Ability to analyze complex vehicle systems and translate technical issues into structured diagnostic workflows and fault trees.
• Experience supporting the creation, review, validation, and continuous improvement of diagnostic procedures and troubleshooting content.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Willingness to travel as needed to support testing, validation, implementation, or training activities.

Advantageous:

• Familiarity with engineering processes, testing methodologies, and validation activities.
• 2+ years of relevant experience in vehicle diagnostics.
• Experience developing procedures, work instructions, or training materials.
• Experience supporting field operations, service centers, mobile service teams, or body shop networks.
• Proficient in Jira, Jama, 3DEXPERIENCE (3DX), and other engineering lifecycle management tools.
• Experience working with high-voltage (HV) vehicle systems, electric vehicle architectures, or autonomous vehicle technologies.

Education Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or Automotive Technology.

Salary Range

The compensation range for this position is specific to the locations listed below and is the range Lucid reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for the position taking into account the wide variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including job-related knowledge; skillset; experience, education and training; certifications; and other relevant business and organizational factors.

Base Pay Range (Annual)

$98,900—$135,960 USD

• Hourly/non-exempt employees accrue up to 120 hours paid time off, and salaried/exempt employees accrue up to 160 hours paid time off
