Job summary

Amazon's hardware engineering internship offers hands-on learning and the chance to work on impactful projects with Amazonians across teams. You’ll engage in prototyping, testing, and documentation, while building a network and developing professional skills from day one.

Expect to contribute to robotics initiatives, utilize state-of-the-art tools, and participate in activities that accelerate your career in a fast‑moving environment. This internship is onsite at multiple MA locations.

Qualifications

• Are 18 years of age or older.
• Note: pursuing Bachelor's, Master's, or higher in Engineering or related STEM fields.
• Knowledge of hardware engineering fundamentals in mechanical, electrical, or related areas.
• Experience with hardware design, development, and testing.

Responsibilities

• Completing project tasks with a team of interns/co-ops and Amazon engineers.
• Utilizing Amazon engineering tools and processes.
• Prototyping and testing concepts or features.
• Tracking progress of task deliverables.
• Developing and maintaining design documentation.

Basic Qualifications

• Are 18 years of age or older
• Experience using one or more of the following CAD technologies: AutoCAD, Rhino, Revit, SolidWorks, CREO, BIM360, SketchUp or KeyShot
• Currently working towards Bachelor's, Master's, or higher in Engineering, Robotics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, Mechatronics, Materials Science, Physics, or related STEM fields
• Knowledge of hardware engineering fundamentals in either one or more of mechanical, electrical, hardware test, hardware reliability, quality, failure analysis, manufacturing, or similar
• Experience with hardware design, development, and testing

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience from previous technical internship(s) or demonstrated project experience
• Hardware Development Engineers should have strong analytic and problem-solving skills
