Amazon.com Services LLC in Bellevue, WA seeks a high-impact Hardware Engineer to design world-class sortation centers and logistics systems. You will own projects end-to-end, leveraging automation, robotics, and advanced material handling to deliver cost-effective solutions.

You will work with a team of engineers in a fast-paced environment on green-field, brown-field, and retrofit projects across fulfillment networks, enabling scalable, high-visibility impact.

Qualifications

We’re looking to a high-impact Hardware Engineer to our team. In this role, you will collaborate with internal and external teams to design high-quality, cost-effective solutions for our sortation and distribution systems. Your projects may include green-fields, brown-fields, and retrofits, including highly automated fulfillment centers, cross-dock facilities, and transportation centers. Your projects will be a variety of template-based and designed-from-scratch along with ownership of Process Designs end to end complimenting each Design.
You will work with a team of highly skilled and highly engaged engineers in a fast-paced and often ambiguous environment. Our team works on hundreds of projects each year. You will be challenged; you will learn; you will work on high impact, high visibility projects; you will grow.
Key job responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate design and innovation efforts to develop optimal solutions for the sortation and transportation network through equipment specification, material flow, process design, site layout, and intellectual property considerations.
• Collaboration with internal teams and external vendors to generate high-quality, cost-effective solutions in very short periods of time.
• Simultaneously manage multiple projects and tasks while effectively influencing, negotiating, and communicating with internal and external business partners, contractors and vendors.
• Provide technical leadership for large-scale engineering projects
• Effective communication skills, ability to execute the vision, detailed roadmap, and specific technical solutions to make a compelling business case with senior executives.

Basic Qualifications

• 3+ years of working in mechanical engineering or equivalent experience
• Experience with prototyping and implementation
• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or equivalent
• Experience in developing functional specifications, design verification plans and functional test procedures

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of SolidWorks simulation or Ansys Finite Element analysis tools
• Experience in the design of complex mechanical products and equipment at volume

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
