Job summary

OpenAI in San Francisco, CA is seeking a Hardware Chips Programs Manager to drive our ML acceleration hardware roadmap. You will coordinate cross-functional teams and external partners to design, schedule, and implement chip hardware initiatives that power our AI compute platforms.

This hybrid role requires strong program management across concept to production, the ability to work with vendors, and a passion for building world‑class AI hardware alongside researchers and engineers.

Qualifications

• Experience as a technical program manager for data center hardware products (server, GPU, TPU, networking, storage).
• End-to-end system program management from concept, design, production, deployment into the data center.
• Experience with System SW programs through NPI.
• Ability to coordinate with strategic partners and vendors.
• Able to work with AI Researchers and Engineers on cutting-edge hardware projects.

Responsibilities

• Manage the design and implementation planning of ML acceleration hardware, working across technical, cross-functional and external stakeholders.
• Lead planning and scheduling of chip hardware designs with strategic partners and vendors.
• Coordinate and marshal internal resources and communication for efficient interaction with partners and vendors.
