Job summary

Stellantis NV is seeking a senior hardware architecture leader to drive compute platform decisions for future IVI and central zones. You will coordinate across software, safety, cyber-security and purchasing to deliver scalable, reliable hardware solutions.

Applicants should have 8+ years in architectural hardware roles, experience with ARM-based systems, and strong knowledge of in-vehicle networks and safety standards. This role is based in Auburn, Alabama, on-site.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical, Electronic, Compute, or Aerospace Engineering.
  • 8+ years in architectural hardware/system roles.
  • Proficient in hardware-software interfaces for sensors, actuators, in-vehicle networks.
  • Experience with ARM-based architectures and infotainment knowledge.

Responsibilities

  • Drive HW architecture decisions for next Stellantis compute system.
  • Coach translating business requirements into platform architecture hardware and SoCs.
  • Develop and analyze platform architecture for performance, scalability, reliability and security.
  • Lead design, prototyping, testing and launch of compute platform for IVI/Central and Zones.
  • Collaborate with Software, Systems, Purchasing, Cyber-Security, Product Managers.
  • Build silicon supplier relationships to understand portfolio and supply chain.
  • Lead technical reviews with Tier1/Tier2 suppliers.
  • Develop performance specs for computing platform and enable sourcing.
  • Drive internal design reviews and securitization activities on demand.

The main job responsibilities will include but not limited to:

  • To drive the HW architecture decisions design for next Stellantis generation computing system/hardware architecture, considered internal and external stakeholder requirements while reaching the highest scalable, reusable and cost optimized solutions
  • To be the coach for translating business requirements into platform architecture hardware, SoCs and other components to support a scalable system solution
  • To drive the Design, development, and analysis of overall platform architecture and partitioning of features onto efficient hardware to meet use cases and workloads in terms of performance, scalability, manageability, reliability, and security requirements.
  • To drive the concept design, prototyping, engineering, testing, release and launch of a cutting-edge compute platform for IVI/Central and Zones while meeting cost, efficiency, reliability, and safety goals
  • To work closely with functional peers (Software, Systems, Purchasing, Functional Safety, Cyber-Security, Product Managers, …) targeting to establish and enable the Compute Technology Roadmap
  • To establish strong silicon supplier working relationships to understand product portfolio, technical performance capabilities, supply chain, and technology roadmaps
  • To drive technical reviews and analysis with Tier1 & Tier2 suppliers and ensure clear understanding of technical performance requirements, capabilities, manufacturing process and supply chain
  • To be the coach for developing performance specifications for computing platform based on target SoCs enabling component engineers to facilitate on-time sourcing activities in accordance with component development needs and vehicle program timing requirements
  • To drive internal design reviews, design assessments, design securitization activities on demand

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical, Electronic, Compute, Aerospace Engineering, or equivalent program
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in an architectural hardware/system role
  • Profound knowledge of state-of-the-art hardware systems, software tools and algorithms for interfaces required for sensors, actuators, firmware development, in-vehicle bus architectures, in-vehicle CPU/GPU/NPU computing platforms, image and audio signal processor, connectivity
  • Profound knowledge on ARM based architectures
  • Knowledge of Infotainment Systems and Zonal Architectures

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experienced in industrial or automotive (preferred) area (TIER1, TIER2…)
  • Solid understanding with embedded electronics design constraints
  • Familiar with system/component design, advanced EE architecture topologies and safety
  • Knowledge of applicable safety standards including ISO 26262, NCAP, and other regulations, industry benchmarks and customer requirements
  • Deep expertise in creating safe and efficient system architectures and complex hardware-software systems including knowledge of testing
  • Master in Electrical, Electronic, Computer, Aerospace Engineering, or equivalent program
