Job summary

JR’s Landscape Services in the Greater Peoria area is seeking a Landscape Construction - Hardscape Team Leader to guide a crew in delivering hardscape installations, plantings, and seasonal enhancements for commercial and residential properties.

The role is hands-on, detail-oriented, and focused on safety, quality workmanship, and on-time project completion. Starting wage $24/hour with opportunities for overtime, bonuses, and career advancement within a growing company.

Qualifications

• Experience leading or supervising a team.
• Knowledge of proper planting techniques, landscape materials, and installation methods according to industry standards.
• Demonstrated knowledge and experience with hardscape construction (pavers, stonework, concrete, etc.).
• Strong work ethic and attention to detail.
• Ability to lift heavy materials and perform physical outdoor work in various conditions.

Responsibilities

• Lead, supervise, and motivate a landscaping crew on daily assignments.
• Teach new skills to other team members.
• Perform and oversee seasonal clean-ups for commercial and residential properties.
• Install mulch, soil, and plant materials according to landscape design plans.
• Implement and maintain flower beds, ensuring proper plant placement and health.
• Execute hardscape installations including patios, walkways, sidewalks, retaining walls, landscape lighting and related features.
• Interpret landscape designs, blueprints, and project specifications accurately.
• Ensure all work meets company quality standards and client expectations.
• Operate landscaping tools and equipment safely and efficiently.
• Maintain a safe work environment and enforce safety procedures.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors, clients, and team members.
• Manage job site organization, materials, and time to maximize productivity.

Education

Illinois Pesticide License

Driver's license (Class A CDL preferred)
