Ganahl Lumber is seeking an organized Purchasing Assistant – Hardlines to support the Hardlines Purchasing team. The role focuses on maintaining inventory availability, assisting with purchasing activities, and communicating with vendors and store locations to ensure the right products are available when needed.

The ideal candidate is detail oriented, comfortable with data and spreadsheets, and able to adapt in a fast-paced environment where priorities shift.

Qualifications

• Must be organized, detail oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities.
• Experience with purchasing, inventory, or distribution is preferred.
• Comfortable working with data, spreadsheets, and vendor communications.

Responsibilities

• Assist Hardlines Buyers and Product Managers with daily purchasing activities.
• Prepare, enter, review, and track purchase orders.
• Monitor open purchase orders and follow up on late or incomplete shipments.
• Maintain appropriate inventory levels across multiple Ganahl Lumber locations.
• Review inventory availability, usage, sales trends, and replenishment needs.
• Identify stock-outs, overstocks, and slow-moving products and address them.
