Job summary

Inteplast Group is seeking a Converting Operator A to support Hard Handle lines at the Plattsburgh facility. The role focuses on maintaining run rate and quality, adhering to GMP, and ensuring a safe, clean work area. You will report to the Shift Supervisor and work a 12‑hour schedule with potential overtime.

The ideal candidate reads a ruler, performs basic arithmetic, communicates effectively, and stays self-directed to troubleshoot and resolve issues as they arise during production.

Qualifications

• Requires good written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to read a ruler and perform basic arithmetic functions accurately.
• Ability to know when to ask for assistance to protect department performance and quality.
• Ability to solve practical equipment and/or product problems and be self-directed.
• Clear understanding of GMP and its role in day-to-day operations.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Converting Operator A

A Converting Operator is primarily responsible for the operation of Hard Handle lines, and reports directly to the Shift Supervisor or Lead Operator of the shift. The Converting Operator is tasked to perform their assigned responsibilities in a timely manner, and to maintain product run rate and quality while maintaining a clean and safe work environment.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Requires good written and verbal communication skills.
• Requires the ability to read a ruler and perform simple arithmetic functions consistently and accurately, including but not limited to converting decimals to fractions.
• Requires the ability to know when to ask for assistance when a problem arises that will affect the department performance and product quality.
• Requires the ability to solve practical equipment and/or product problems and be self-directed within the framework of the essential duties and responsibilities.
• Clear understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and the role they play in our day to day operations.
• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.

• Ensure consistent, dependable attendance and demonstrate a willingness to accommodate non-standard work hours as necessary.

• Capable of effectively managing job-related stress and fostering productive workplace interactions.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• The work environment described here is representative of those an employee would encounter on a daily basis while performing the job functions.
• This position works a 12/hour shift. The schedule includes day and night work as well as weekends and holidays. It can also include overtime when needed.
