The City of Kodiak is seeking a Harbor Officer in the Harbor Department. The role oversees the security, maintenance, and safe use of City port, harbor, and shipyard facilities, reporting to the Harbor Department.

Responsibilities include patrolling facilities by foot, vehicle, and vessel; conducting vessel counts; routine maintenance; enforcing harbor policies; and providing emergency response for disabled vessels, fires and lost persons.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• One year of general work experience preferred.
• Experience with vessel operations and VHF radio communications desired.

Responsabilités

• Patrol all areas of facilities by foot, vehicle and vessel.
• Conduct vessel counts and routine maintenance activities.
• Secure vessels at docks and enforce harbor policies with warnings or tickets.
• Operate harbor vessels to provide emergency response for disabled vessels, fires and lost persons.
