Job summary

Curtin Harbor Services is seeking a Deckhand/AB to join our harbor operations in the San Pedro Bay Port Complex (LA & Long Beach). The role supports 24/7 ship-assist and escort services, working with the Port Captain and Vessel Captain.

Expect shift work, nights, weekends, and holidays as schedules require. Ideal candidates will be able to operate in a fast-paced harbor, perform pre-job checks, and demonstrate strong safety and teamwork as part of Curtin’s commitment to Innovation, Integrity,

Qualifications

• Must have TWIC Card.
• MMC (Able Seafarer – Special).
• CG Medical Certificate – no night restrictions.
• Pass physical & drug test.
• STCW Basic Training (preferred).
• Prior ship-assist/escort experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work safely as directed by supervisor.
• Learn and become proficient with Curtin's vessels.
• Complete Deckhand Training Manual.
• Progress to running deck and leading the deck crew for ship-assist, barge work and escort operations.
• Identify maintenance needs and plan corrective tasks.
• Experience with Vessel Management System.
