Primary Purpose

Service Leaders act as day-to-day leads in the Hannaford To Go department, ensuring efficient operation and an exceptional customer experience, supporting and working alongside the Hannaford To Go Supervisor. They provide direction to Expeditors and Shoppers, model service excellence, and ensure customers receive a high-quality experience during every transaction. Typical duties include:

The Following

• Lead department operations in the absence of the Supervisor.
• Support customer service and sales building by role modeling high standards.
• Maintain department appearance, safety, sanitation, and food safety standards.
• Delegate tasks, follow up, and provide real-time coaching on shopping and expediting processes.
• Report performance or behavioral issues to management.
• Assist in training and developing associates.
• Maintain communication with management and adhere to company policies and legal requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Duties And Responsibilities

• Follow all policies and procedures.
• Maintain a neat personal appearance.
• Handle return-to-stock items promptly, especially perishables.
• Support safety standards, report equipment issues, and keep work areas safe.
• Recognize different types of produce and merchandise.
• Record price discrepancies and secure company assets.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Effective communication and customer service skills.
• Minimum age requirements met.
• Willingness to learn multiple tasks.
• Ability to perform technical tasks related to Hannaford To Go.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Retail customer service experience preferred.
• Understanding of store operations preferred.
• Leadership ability and problem-solving skills.

Physical Requirements

• Perform repetitive motions, stand/walk for most of the shift.
• Lifting up to 15 pounds continuously, 25 pounds frequently, 50 pounds occasionally.
• Pushing or pulling up to 75 pounds occasionally.
• Work outdoors in inclement weather when necessary.
• Handle various substances and materials.
• Sufficient visual acuity to read screens and documents.
