Planned Companies in Manhattan, NY is seeking a part-time janitor/custodian to maintain clean and safe common areas for residential and commercial properties. Responsibilities include floor care, restroom sanitizing, trash removal, and light handyman tasks, with a focus on reliability and attention to detail.

Employees are expected to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 pounds, and work well both in teams and independently.

Qualifications

• Standing for extended periods.
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds or more.
• Experience using cleaning products and floor/carpet cleaning equipment.
• Able to work on a team as well as independently.
• Strong report writing and clear verbal communication skills.
• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Vacuuming, sweeping, and mopping floors of various types.
• Stripping, buffing and waxing floors of various types.
• Dusting ceilings, light fittings, countertops, and loose furniture.
• Scrubbing and sanitizing bathroom toilets, sinks, and kitchen fixtures.
• Emptying trash cans and washing/drying windows.
• Requesting cleaning supply orders and reporting breakages/needed repairs.
• Assisting building management with projects and other duties as requested.
• Lighthandyman duties.
• Light painting.
