Job summary

WinnCompanies is seeking a thorough Handyman to join our team at Polyclinic Apartments, a 151-unit property in New York, NY. You will assist the maintenance team to keep the property clean, functional, and inviting.

The position runs Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM, with on-call availability for after-hours emergencies. This is a union position with union benefits and compensation.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience.
• General custodial skills evidenced by property maintenance or janitorial work.
• General knowledge of electrical, plumbing, appliances, and HVAC.
• Ability to adhere to a strict routine maintenance schedule.
• Ability to speak and understand basic English.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work with a diverse group of people.

Responsibilities

• Perform repairs in areas including appliances, carpentry, hardware, masonry, painting, and basic electrical/plumbing/HVAC.
• Complete assigned service requests and repairs per company procedures.
• Assist in preparing vacant apartments for market readiness.
• Maintain grounds and curb appeal through snow removal, landscaping, and trash management.
• Be available for on-call activity during off-hours as scheduled.

About The Opportunity

WinnCompanies is seeking a thorough and attentive Handyman to join our team at Polyclinic Apartments, a 151-unit residential property in New York, NY.

In this role, you will assist the maintenance team in ensuring our properties are clean, functional, and inviting.

The pay rate for this position is $33.04 - $33.87 per hour, depending on experience. Additionally, this a union position, which will include union benefits and compensation.

Please note that the schedule for this position is Monday through Friday, from 8:00AM to 5:00PM. This role requires availability for on-call activity during off-hours for urgent needs.

Responsibilities

• Perform repairs in such areas as, but not limited to, appliances, carpentry, hardware accessories, masonry, painting and basic electrical, basic plumbing, and basic HVAC.
• Complete assigned service requests and repairs consistent with company operating procedures.
• Assist in preparing vacant apartments for market ready status in accordance to company standards.
• Maintain grounds and curb appeal through snow removal, landscaping and trash management activities.
• Be available for on call activity during off hours and emergencies based on a pre-determined schedule and need.

Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience.

• General knowledge of electrical, plumbing, appliances, and HVAC.
• Ability to adhere precisely to a strict routine maintenance schedule.
