Job summary

Apex Multifamily Builders is seeking a skilled Handyman/Maintenance tech to join our construction team. You will perform repairs and contribute to estimating across multiple projects, acting as a bridge between our company, subcontractors, and clients.

Responsibilities include multifamily and light commercial work such as plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and equipment installation. A minimum of 3 years of handyman experience and a proactive, team-oriented attitude are required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years of handyman experience, preferably in a multi-project environment.
• Strong knowledge of common repair and maintenance tasks.
• Basic understanding of construction estimating and subcontractor coordination.
• Proficient with hand and power tools.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to travel between sites.
• Physical ability to perform manual labor, including lifting up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Walk through projects with subcontractors to evaluate scope.
• Assist in gathering and comparing estimates from various subcontractors.
• Ensure clear and detailed communication of project needs and expectations.
• Perform small repairs and maintenance tasks across different sites as required.
• Address issues such as plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, etc.
• Ensure all repairs comply with local building codes and quality standards.
• Act as a liaison between clients, subcontractors, and company management.
• Coordinate schedules and facilitate communication to ensure smooth workflow.
• Inspect repair work to ensure quality and completeness.
• Follow safety guidelines and regulations at all times.
• Maintain detailed logs of walkthroughs, estimates, repairs, and any related communication.
• Provide regular updates to supervisors and relevant stakeholders.

In this role, you will perform multifamily and light commercial maintenance work that may include insulating, welding, repairing electrical or mechanical equipment, repairing buildings, floors, or stairs, and installing new equipment. You are hard-working, a team player, and dedicated to performing quality work in all that you do. Significant past experience as a professional handyman or maintenance worker is highly preferred, and a positive attitude is a must!
