BORJA ENGINEERING & CONSTRUCTION, Inc. is seeking a skilled Handyman/General Labor to join our team. You will perform residential and commercial maintenance tasks including pipe fitting, painting, drywall, and general repairs across buildings and equipment.

You are hardworking, a team player, and committed to quality workmanship. Experience in maintenance is highly valued and a positive attitude is essential for this role.

Qualifications

• Experience as handyman/general maintenance required.
• Knowledge of job site safety rules (OSHA) required.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
• Must have basic tools and transportation to jobsite.
• Ability to pass security background checks.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, operate, or test machinery or equipment to diagnose machine malfunctions
• Dismantle machines, equipment, or devices to access and remove defective parts, using hoists, hand tools, or power tools
• Perform routine maintenance, such as inspecting drives, motors, or belts, checking fluid levels, replacing filters, or doing other preventive maintenance actions
• Diagnose mechanical problems and determine how to correct them, checking blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs, as necessary
• Repair machines, equipment, or structures, using tools such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, wrenches, or equipment such as precision measuring instruments or electrical or electronic testing devices
• Interact with customers in a professional and friendly manner

Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled Handyman/General Labor to join our team! In this role, you will perform residential, commercial maintenance work that may include pipe fitting, insulating, welding, repairing electrical or mechanical equipment, repairing buildings, floors, or stairs, DEMO, Painting, Drilling, Plumbing, drywall installation and repair, and installing new equipment.

You are hard‑working, a team player, and dedicated to performing quality work in all that you do. Significant past experience as a professional maintenance worker is highly preferred and a positive attitude is a must!

• Previous experience as a handyman / general maintenance
• Knowledge of job site safety rules and regulations (OSHA)
• Knowledge of methods, tools, and equipment used in carpentry
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints
• Must be qualified to perform at heights above thirty (30) feet with the use of a ladder, lift, or bucket truck boom
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs on a consistent basis
• Must have basic tools
• Must have transportation to and from jobsite
• Ability to pass security background checks
