Job description

Overview

This position assists in performing maintenance and repair to the college facilities.

Responsibilities

Duties include, but are not limited to the following:

1. Repairs and replaces window units and glass.
2. Layout and install new doors and windows.
3. Repairs and replaces doors, locksets, hinges, and door closers.
4. Repairs existing flooring (ceramic, quarry, and vat tiles).
5. Layout and installs new flooring including cove base.
6. Installs / replaces wood moldings.
7. Replaces ceiling tiles.
8. Layout and installs new ceilings including grid track.
9. Layout and installs new walls including taping and spackle.
10. Replaces sinks, toilets and urinals, and hose bibs.
11. Repairs leaking water connections.
12. Repairs / replace leaking heating pipes and fittings.
13. Performs other duties as assigned by the Manager or Director of the department.

Qualifications

Education/ Experience

• High School Diploma/GED Equivalent preferred.

Knowledge/ Skills/ Abilities

• Must be able to operate both hand and power tools safely.
• Determine what materials are needed and notify the Manager.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Must be able to multi-task and prioritize work.

Physical Demands

• Extensive time kneeling and standing.
• Be able to work on ladders.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.

Travel

• Some travel throughout NYC.

Salary

Maximum Salary: USD $48,245.00/Yr.

Minimum Salary: USD $38,596.00/Yr.
